Catch Up!

Since our March Break Tour to CMW; Language-Arts has been busy!

We had a wonderful time in Ontario and Quebec, so much that a whirl-wind of changes have come upon us. The group now consists of Kristen Cudmore and at the moment, she has been lucky to have welcomed Marcus Abramzik, Josh Contant and Laura Smith as her music comrades for the Vancouver chapter (when ever they are available and not busy with their own projects: 'This is Franco' + 'Kilmore Place' and Jazz School for Marcus and Josh, and Laura Smith's TBA band name and her session work with artists like Hannah Georgas and Dan Mangan, and her work with File Under Music). Gregor Phillips has decided to spend more time on his film composing / sound design career so he will be missed. You can check out his work at gregorphillips.ca.

Since the overwhelmingly fun tour in March, and our musical chairs session, we have been in the studio working on 4 new songs. L-A has been working with Tom Dobrzanski and the final mixes will be cut in July. We are excited for the results!

Language-Arts also had a wonderful show when friends Olenka and the Autumn Lovers came to town. We put on a lovely show together at Cafe Deux Soleils and coming up is L-A's last Vancouver show at Funky Winker Beans with 'Like Animals Again' (CD release), 'Gut Feeling' and 'Apollo Ghosts'. This is the last Vancouver show for now since the group will be relocating next year to try somewhere new. We started in Halifax and skipped straight to Vancouver almost 6 years ago and now we're going to try out the middle of the country! Wish us luck as this is both scary and exciting.

A big thank you goes out to all of the people who have been supporting the music and our pathways since we began.
